Ljubljana city walk – from 3 hours
Discover the sights of Slovenia’s charming, historic capital. Savour café-life, explore the bustling market square, photograph the medieval architecture of the old town, Ljubljana’s castle and the romantic Ljubljanica river all within easy walking distance.

Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge – full day
Lake Bled provides a stunning setting all year round and it truly is a photographer’s dream. Capture reflections from the shore of this majestic glacial lake, as well as more classic shots of the picturesque island, the traditional Pletna rowing boats and views from the hill-top castle. You can also try your hand at capturing fast-flowing water at nearby Vintgar Gorge, and we won’t leave without savouring (and photographing!) one of Bled’s celebrated cream cakes.

Ptuj and the Jeruzalem Vineyards
Ptuj is a small city situated near the Drava River (a tributary of the Danube). It has a well-preserved medieval old town, but its history dates back to the Roman times. Ptuj is also home to Ptujska Klet, the oldest wine cellar in Slovenia — a must see! From here we continue to the Jeruzalem wine region, home to some of the most picturesque countryside in Slovenia. In autumn, the vines turn from green to yellow and form lovely textures on the slopes.

Other possibilities are Križna Jama for a cave photography adventure, the coastal town of Piran and the salt plains, the emerald green waters of the Soča River and valleys, the mountain plateaus of Velika Planina in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Ljubljana’s central position in Slovenia makes it an ideal starting point to visit almost any part of the country in one day.
