Rafting & other adventures on Soča River
DESCRIPTION
In one of the most beautiful and unspoiled valleys in Europe, the Soča (pronounced So-cha) river springs from limestone mountains in the northwestern part of Slovenia, in the Julian Alps. It flows majestically alongside mountain meadows, through steep gorges and under towering mountains until it reaches Italy, becoming the Isonzo and ending its lengthy journey in the Adriatic Sea. Apart from its setting, what makes this river so amazing and memorable is its vivid emerald green colour and gin clear water. This area is so unique and extraordinary that is was awarded the ‘European Destination of Excellence’ by the European Commission in 2008.
